The foundation of the case study that I'm working on is research. Specifically, I am researching the distribution and technological advancements that effect the film production company that I have selected. For my first case study, I am going to be researching Netflix, the company that started out as a video rental company with their first shares being worth two dollars at first. But now, it's a streaming empire and a household name. Since the film opening I am planning on doing is going to be a drama, I will be using the Netflix originals of "Roma" and "Marriage Story" as examples of Netflix's methods of production. They were first distributed for a month in select theatres before being moved to Netflix's service where they could be streamed an infinite amount of times. Netflix also capitalized on advancing technology and the internet, which allowed t
hem to start their streaming service in 2007.
